Bryann T – Carry On review

Bryann Trejo has the heart of an evangelist reaching back to the streets the Lord saved him from. Carry On is 15 tracks overflowing with grace moments for the listener to receive salvation. The Texas- Cali swing of 808s and snare snaps blended with melodies and cry out harmonies make for amazing kingdom-minded music. “Perfect Portrait” sets the tone, beautiful piano leads over a slow flow beat clap as Bryann T pleads to the lord and Monica Hill Trejo sings “I pray for your safety for your soul.” “Testimonies of the Righteous” has an 80’s sugar hill twist, the verses voice a praise report of God’s intervention in the life of Bryann T’s pastor. Monica Hill Trejo leads off “Solid Food” a song about the struggles and change of becoming a new creature in Christ, from the bondage of our past to the new freedom found in faith. “Who Told You” a message debunking the lies spoken to us daily by the ways of the world. “You Are My Portion” another Bryann and Monica team up over an r&b flavored track full of encouragement to keep us going in God and run into his protection. “All About Him” God-focused rhymes loving on the lord over a rhythm reminiscent of Tupac’s dear mama. “God’s Eyes on Me” confirms the Makaveli influence in Bryann’s cadence, giving respect to a hip-hop legend but realizing that gangster music has a demonic message and Trejo is flipping it holy. “Power in Prayer” expresses the benefit and necessity of fellowship with the Father through prayer. “I Choose Love” verbalizes forgiveness is victory over hate, choosing to love people even when they do you dirty, truth! “Loyal Forever” God treasures his kids, he blesses us. “Full Speed” a lyrical shot at the evils hidden and holding mankind from salvation. “Purpose” continues the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ, washed in the blood, preach! “Daughter of the King” sounds like a father reinforcing value into his daughter, reminding her “who’s she is”, not selling her self short for sex or the abuses of a bad relationship. “Truth Hurts” touches on God’s love, the value he holds for us, and his truth that exposes the dark areas of our life that need to be revealed and healed to experience real freedom. The last song on “Carry On” is a very powerful and poignant dissertation bringing awareness about the sickening occurrence of human trafficking.

“Help (Human Trafficking Awareness)” is a warning to all, that there is a disgusting underworld that prey’s on women and children. There have been so many lives abused and families destroyed for the lust of sex and money, fueling the perversion of this twisted demonic business that needs to be stopped. Keep your family and friends under a watchful eye and pray for those that have been affected by human trafficking.
Bryann T’s album “Carry On” is a healthy meal of gospel truth that refreshes the spirit. This is an example of Christ’s soul-saving message broadcasted through the vehicle of hip-hop/rap music that the world needs from Chh artists. Prayers and God’s love to the street mission of Bryann Trejo, Monica Hill Trejo and the Kingdom Muzic family, this album is certified straight ministry heat!
