Mouthpi3ce – 5780 “The year of the mouth” album review

5780 is the year of the mouth, not just on the Jewish calendar, but it’s Mouthpi3ce latest release. Don’t sleep on this album, unless you don’t like head-nodding beats and rhymes that make your face scrunch up from effortless word play. I’ve already got 5780 on rotation, every song is fire, marching drums vibe with uplifting horns and guitars on “Revival of My Soul” then Christ life is being served over the 808 drive pumping, classic Chuck D sampled “Bass”. Creative lyrics are on display working the word “Mercy” over jazz horns and scratches, that leads to the tag team match “Tug of War feat. Jeremiah Bligen”, this song is so tuff. The Ryu fireballs continue with boom-bap beats, soul-drenched melodies, classic samples, trap bounce, jazz inspirations, no paper-thin lyrics and a-class features like Dee Black, Alano Adan, Norman Michael, Thre, Jered Sanders, and Germaine Martel. 16 tracks and Mouthpi3ce painstakingly touches a multitude of topics on everyone with ease. With 7 albums under his belt, Mouthpi3ce is no stranger to the mic or the world of chh, 5780 “The year of the mouth” marks album number 8, an instant classic in my books and its certified straight ministry heat!!!
